Volando pájaros remontan a través del cielo, hacia arriba, lentamente,aumentando altura y velocidad...más rápidos...guiados por el movimiento de los vientos y de los pensamientos, viajan por encima de paisajes y nubes blancas extraños y diferentes ... hacia lugares lejanos y desconocidos.Acercándose a su destino final, preparan suaterrizaje, cada vez más cerca...ellos están llegando…ellos han llegado.

CONCEPTO DE LA OBRA " A la espera de Volar "
En estos trabajos no está claro si los pájaros están a la espera de lanzarse al vuelo o ya han llegado a su destino y esperan despegar de nuevo. El trabajo transmite un deseo de estar en movimiento, para cambiar, para llegar a un nuevo lugar. A diferencia de trabajos anteriores que expresaba temas como los viajes que reflejaba un sentimiento del culturas pasadas, la búsqueda de mundos perdidos y civilizaciones antiguas, estas nuevas piezas dan paso a un fuerte ambiente de la presente hacia el futuro. La repetición de determinadas imágenes crea el sentido de un vocabulario familiar. A menudo las mismas agrupaciones reaparecen en diferentes versiones. Emergen detalles, a veces medio ocultos o casi desapareciendo bajo la transparencia del material. La repetición de las imágenes son pequeñas señales rodeadas de espacio llevando con ellas una sensación de movimiento y de la libertad.

Sobre Judy McCaig
Licenciada y Master en Bellas Artes por el Royal College of Art, Londres. Ha cursado estudios de grabado e impresión en Chelsea School of Art, Londres. Ha impartido clases en las escuelas de arte de Glasgow y Edimburgo. Actualmente es profesora de joyería en la Escola Massana. Ha participado en simposiums en República Checa,Estados Unidos, Polonia y Portugal.Su trabajo ha sido expuesto en Crafts Council Collection, Londres; National Museums of Scotland, Edimburgo; British Museum, London; Vydalo Museum, Ceskeho ráje, Turnov, Czech Republic y Elizabeth Moinard Private Collection, Glasgow. Desde 1980 realiza exposiciones individuales y colectivas en Europa, Estados Unidos, Canadá y Japón.
